Ski sailing is a great winter activity and still somewhat new to Alaska. We have 4, 8 meter sails to teach you with. You'll quickly pick up the feel and be soaring down the lake in no time.

Ski salingAlong with ski sailing, you can learn and experience through courses such as:

  • Building a snow cave
  • Starting a fire without matches
  • Winter travel
  • Operate and understand a GPS, map and compass
  • Learn snowshoeing as well as many other wilderness skills and crafts all available while spending time surrounded by nature. As in the summer season, we offer a Wilderness Skills Course teaching necessary skills for enjoyment of the wilderness as well as emergency survival. For a listing of the courses we offer, see HiLine Courses.

Exciting things this winter are ski sailing and snow caving! Yes, you can build and sleep very comfortably in a snow cave or other winter shelter. Become a member of the "100 Below Zero Club". We will record the lowest temperature you stay in and add it to your log book.
