    Experience Nature Up Close...

You'll enjoy this great wilderness up close as you and your friends ski through the gentle hills and down to the river for the final run to the village. You'll camp overnight in a heated tent at the trail camp and while in Skwentna stay at the Skwentna Roadhouse in a warm cabin. We eat hearty meals at the trail camp. In Skwentna you'll be treated to excellent Roadhouse meals. On the trail, all gear and supplies are hauled ahead as we break trail for better overland skiing.

Upon arriving in Skwentna you'll relax in a cabin at the Skwentna Roadhouse. The accommodations are bunkhouse style and warm. Staying at the Skwentna Roadhouse means enjoying great Bush meals.
During the afternoon of the next day you'll get to not only take a ride with a team of powerful dogs as they whisk you away, but also get to try your hand at it. You'll be thoroughly shocked at the power of the sled dog. The evening brings a bonfire on the river and night skiing.

    A sunny afternoon ski.

    Trip Overview:
On day 1 of each of these trips, you'll fly in and spend the night in one of our lakeshore cabins at HiLine Lake while enjoying great meals and hopefully the Northern Lights. The next morning we'll be heading out for the trail camp. That night will be spent at the trail camp enjoying a great meal and good night's sleep in our heated tent. The next 3 nights will be spent in a warm and cozy cabin at the Skwentna Roadhouse enjoying dog mushing and other activities. After one night at the trail camp on the return trip, your last night will be spent back at HiLine Lake reminiscing about your great trip in the Alaskan Bush while enjoying a wonderful meal and friends!

These ski trips are moderate in difficulty with temperatures ranging from 10 above during the day to 20 below at night. Of course, the weather is always unpredictable, so we are always prepared for any condition. If you are an avid cross country skier and enjoy the wilderness this is the winter adventure for you. These trips are better suited for adults or older teens. You bring your own skis, boots and poles - we'll supply the rest.
