This summer we have a number of new things going on in the Bush:

  • Photon Stoves
  • New Trails
  • Advanced Classes
  • New Canoe self-rescue
  • Sailing
  • Climbing
  • Meals
  • Advanced Geocaching
  • New camp T-shirts are in!
  • Need a flight in or out?**New Service**

    The stove you'll build!

Photon Stoves: This summer as part of our craft courses we'll be building the backpacker's Photon Stove created by Don Johnson. You'll construct it from 3 soda pop cans, some mesh wire and a few other simple parts. This stove works better than the top selling alcohol stoves, is light weight and best of all...RELIABLE! You'll get great satisfaction from this course and an excellent stove!

New Trails: We are always upgrading and developing new trails within this pristine area treading lightly to provide hikes that are not only great to do but have an interesting destination. This year we are working on some great views.

Advanced Classes: This summer we are offering advanced classes along with beginner classes for those of you returning and for those quick learners. Some highlights: The bow and drill fire starter; Larger and more complex Birch Bark Baskets; Advanced GPS use; Advanced map & compass plus more.

New Canoe method: A new way to get yourself back in your canoe or kayak without dog paddling it to shore... You'll love the WET demonstration!

Sailing: Want to learn how to sail? We have added a 13 foot Banshee sailboat to our fleet of canoes and kayak. Our instructor has over a decade of teaching kids and adults to sail. Add this one to your activity list!

Climbing: We are preparing a beginning rock climbing and tree climbing area here in the bush for this summer. We expect the areas to be completed by July 1st. While not world class walls, we'll have some small rock great for learning the basics, building confidence and skills. Ever try old fashion lumberjack tree climbing? We'll let you experience the sensation here at HiLine Lake.

Meals: We will be providing all meals and snacks for the Summer Camp weeks. You can still bring your additional food and prepare it in your cabin, but I'm sure you'll enjoy our bush cuizine (not as rugged as it sounds).

Advanced Geocaching: Geocaching has become a very popular activitiy. Involving a GPS and treasure hunt, it tests your skills. This year we'll be setting a geocache course for advanced players that may just make you scratch your head. Come and see how good you really are!

New T-Shirts: 2002 Summer T-shirts are in and waiting for all of you kids. See you soon!

Need a Flight in or out?: Now you can post your flight information on our Plane Schedule Bulletin Board and let other travelers to/from HiLine Lake know your needs or availability. Simply fill out the online form and it will be posted for others to view prior to making their arrangments. Check it out by clicking on Plane Schedule.

New Look: You may have noticed the new web site look. We hope it provides the kind of information you need to help make your outdoor plans. Any suggestions you may have for improvements are greatly appreciated.
